Meet the Religious School Staff

Here is where we will update you on your child's teachers. Throughout the year, we will highlight what is going on in your child's classroom, including photos.

Be sure to check out the bulletin boards outside of the 2nd floor classrooms; the teachers will be updating them throughout the year to show you the students' latest projects. It's a great way to discover what's going on in your child's classroom.

The JRC Religious School is led by Terri Ginsberg Bernsohn, a long-time school administrator and JRC member. Terri leads a staff of 14 teachers, who bring diverse Jewish experience to the school. Several of the teachers have been with the Religious School for over 10 years, giving students the benefit of their experience and commitment. Staff members participate in formal professional education programs twice a year and are encouraged to take advantage of other opportunities to advance their Jewish learning and teaching skills.

JRC’s clergy are actively involved in the Religious School. The Rabbi and Cantor lead an interactive mini-service each week for grades K-2 and abridged afternoon services on Tuesdays and Thursdays for grades 3-7. The Rabbi co-leads the high school program and visits frequently with the younger grades to teach particular lessons or answer questions. The Cantor regularly spends time with 3rd through 6th graders, teaching and reviewing prayer melodies and teaching trope (beginning in 4th grade).

The Religious School Committee provides lay leadership, with Committee members meeting monthly to provide advice and assistance to the Director.
As always, if you have any questions, please contact Religious School Director Terri Ginsberg Bernsohn or Educational Assistant Robyn Hurtig.
